It’s now a parking lot, but in the past, it was so much more! Most Minoters most recently remember it as The Empire Theater; there’s more than a few of us who saw our first movie here. When it was built in 1954, it’s 66′ screen was among the biggest in the country. It’s last day was 1985 and you can hear the story of it’s final show below.
But even before the memories of the theater were made; this site was home to another remarkable piece of Minot’s past — North Dakota’s first miniature golf course. It would take some time, but it wouldn’t be your last chance to golf on Main Street. More recently, the team at The Putt District (right down the street) has given as a whole new twist an old Minot favorite!
